ing is a band to watch, creating timeless music across many borders, from Americana to 80s Britrock to vintage 60s lysergic garage psychedelia. From intimate coffeehouses to top clubs and festival stages, ing dances gleefully around and in the rock, pop and jam communities, happily blending improv transitions between tuneful songs. ing got its first "big break" last Summer when they opened for guitar great Jonny Lang at the 1600 seat Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA. ing's set won over the crowd. ing is a group that has stuck to its guns of impassioned delivery and song craftsmanship, gaining new fans along the way.

The band's new CD Stagger & Belligerence is getting out there (on Heyday Records, distributed by Red Eye) and receiving strong reviews:

"... brilliant.-- proving the relevance and resilience
of good ol' rock and roll."

San Francisco Bay Guardian January 21, 2004

Included on the disc are: the Britpop Better Don't Do, passionate pile-driver Brotherhood Way, southern-stomping Connect In Grey and the tormented country-western soul of Miracle Song.

ing was born as a duo in December 1995 with Mark Smotroff and Sean Mylett. In the summer of '98, ing transformed into a four-piece rock ensemble and soon released, to strong reviews, their EP Liberty in 1999. Liberty showcased ing's rock and power pop sensibilities while capturing the group's dynamic live energy. Billboard called it "stellar" and "fresh and original". Today, the group now includes the blistering drum talents of Lliam Hart (Wire Train, American Music Club, Information Society, etc.) and rock solid bass of Andrew Stess (Buddhakowski and sessions). Together, ing has grown its reputation as a formidable rock entity. This reputation is underscored by the band being voted "Best Local Rock Band" in the "Best of the Bay" Reader's Polls for the San Francisco Bay Guardian (2002), SF Weekly (2003) and San Francisco Magazine (2003).
